Hello!! I’m back. Today [Friday] I will have something that I probably should have posted when I got home. Over the first week of January, I went down to Florida to do their 5k and 10k, in Disney. While I, personally, did not get a lot of pictures, I do have plenty to share. We went on a trip to three parks [Hollywood Studios, Magic Kingdom, and EPCOT] and it was certainly fun, even having gone so many times before.
Going back to the marathon weekend though – we got our packets on Wednesday, when we checked in at the Boardwalk, near EPCOT. While there was the expo to explore, we didn’t get anything there other than things that could help us on the races. (The things consisted of energy bars and energy gel, some to eat in the morning when we got up)
It was cold. Very, very cold. On Thursday – the day of the 5k, we had to get up at around 3:30 – 4. I don’t remember which in specific. But we had to get on the bus and ride over to the starting line, and we waited there. For an hour. In the cold. There was also a lot of wind, which made the temperature drop into the negatives. On Friday – the day of the 10k, we had to get up at 3:30 and get out to the starting line, where we waited for about an hour before we got into the corrals, and then got into the race about another hour later. The temperature was better that day, being as there was not wind, even if we had to get up at 0′ dark thirty.
While I did get dragged from about halfway on the 10k until the end, we made it and I can surely say that maybe next time training a little more would be useful.
